NMIXX is set to open a new chapter in their musical journey. The six-member group — LILY, HAEWON, SULLYOON, BAE, JIWOO, and KYUJIN — will release their first full-length album “Blue Valentine” on October 13, marking a milestone nearly three years and eight months after their debut.

The album contains 12 diverse tracks including the title song “Blue Valentine”, “SPINNIN’ ON IT,” “Phoenix,” “Reality Hurts,” “RICO,” “Game Face,” “PODIUM,” “Crush On You,” “ADORE U,” “Shape of Love,” “O.O Part 1 (Baila),” and “O.O Part 2 (Superhero)” — a musical spectrum that highlights the group’s versatility as the quintessential “all-rounder girl group.”

๐Ÿ’ฟ The Long-Awaited 1st Studio Album

NMIXX, known for their six-sided perfection across vocals, dance, visuals, and creativity, expands their identity with “Blue Valentine.” Through signature a cappella medleys and teaser videos, they previewed a blend of emotional storytelling and sonic innovation that drew rave reactions from global fans.

Leader HAEWON described the comeback as “a collection that reflects our diversity and artistic growth,” while SULLYOON expressed hopes that “listeners will feel how much we’ve evolved through this album.”

๐ŸŽง About “Blue Valentine” — Melancholy Meets MIXX POP

The title track “Blue Valentine” is a blend of melancholic synth layers, emotional guitar riffs, and fast-paced boom-bap rhythms, exemplifying NMIXX’s signature MIXX POP style — a genre that fuses multiple contrasting sounds into one cohesive track.

Its lyrics explore the duality of love — affection and pain — symbolized through the group’s ongoing “MIXXTOPIA” universe. The music video, described by HAEWON as “a journey through overlapping worlds of past and present, reality and space,” promises surreal visuals and intricate storytelling.

“There are many ‘heart’ gestures in the choreography — count them all while watching! It’s a fun little Easter egg.” — HAEWON

๐Ÿ“ Members’ Thoughts on Songwriting and Production

This album also features active participation from the members. LILY and HAEWON contributed lyrics to several tracks, marking a new creative milestone for the group.

  • LILY: “I worked on ‘Reality Hurts,’ our first all-English track. It was nerve-wracking but exciting. I wanted the lyrics to carry NMIXX’s core message — and I’m proud of how it turned out.”
  • HAEWON: “I wrote the bridge for ‘PODIUM’ while on tour. I spent the whole day on it, wanting to make something rare yet familiar. Hearing the members say they were proud of me was really touching.”

๐Ÿ’ฌ Members Pick Their Favorite B-Sides

Each member named their personal favorite track, revealing unique musical tastes within the group:

  • LILY: “SPINNIN’ ON IT” — “It hit me instantly. The melody was just perfect for my taste.”
  • HAEWON: “Shape of Love” — “It embodies our belief in loving diversity — no matter the form or color.”
  • SULLYOON: “Crush On You” — “The lyrics are so cute and fluttery — I practiced a lot to convey that excitement.”
  • BAE: “Phoenix” — “It reminds me of ‘Papillon,’ full of grandeur and emotion. I love the powerful sound.”
  • JIWOO: “O.O Part 2 (Superhero)” — “Fans loved it at our concert, and I’m thrilled it’s finally getting an official release.”
  • KYUJIN: “SPINNIN’ ON IT” — “It’s my style — band-based, energetic, and totally addictive.”

๐ŸŒŸ Their Goals for This Comeback

When asked what kind of response they hope to receive this time, members spoke with both humor and sincerity:

  • LILY: “I’d love to hear, ‘NMIXX’s lyrics hit so deep!’ or ‘Their songs make me cry.’ That would mean everything.”
  • HAEWON: “In one line: ‘How far can they possibly grow?!’”
  • BAE: “I want people to say, ‘You can’t skip a single track.’ That would be the best compliment.”

๐ŸŽค First Solo Concert — What to Expect

NMIXX will host their first-ever solo concert on November 29 and 30. As SULLYOON shared, “We’re preparing bigger and more spectacular performances than ever before.”

JIWOO added, “We want to fill the stage with our unique color so every NSWER can enjoy it fully,” while KYUJIN promised, “It’ll be a concert worth every expectation — we’re pouring our hearts into it.”
