⚔️ Conflict Rooted in Past Legal Dispute
The tension stems from the long-standing dispute between NewJeans, former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, and HYBE. During the public back-and-forth, both sides referenced LE SSERAFIM:
- NewJeans claimed HYBE favored LE SSERAFIM over them.
- Min Hee-jin publicly stated HYBE debuted LE SSERAFIM first “at NewJeans’ expense.”
This resulted in LE SSERAFIM being framed as “the evil stepsister” while NewJeans was painted as the “wronged Cinderella”—leading to a surge of online harassment against LE SSERAFIM unrelated to the dispute itself.
